OMG. Another incredible article from one of my past heroes, Scott Adams, creator of Dilbert.

Try to imagine working for a company with no management. How do they resolve conflicts, set priorities, measure performance, fire laggards, and all the rest? I couldn’t picture it working.

Without going into too much of the article: Management only exists to compensate for its own poor hiring decisions.

A confession: I am a past manager. I managed large teams at a number of my past Fortune 500 gigs.

I also feel that today, our idea of a company, corporation, or organization is changing RADICALLY. Many companies are jettisoning off HR, IT, Marketing, Customer Services, Investor Relations, and even Sales. It’s just a matter of time when they figure out how to outsource Finance, Operations, and other key departments (and they probably are already).

So CHECK IT OUT.
